We all know I’m a bit of a sucker for Kylie Cosmetics products (take my collection of Lip Kits for example) but I actually spent quite a bit of time debating on whether to get the Kyshadow Bronze palette or not, but who was I kidding? I finally went for it when Kylie did $5 international shipping because, well, how could I not? When it was first released, I wasn’t too bothered about it if I’m honest. It wasn’t really until I got my bhCosmetics palette a few weeks ago that I started getting into eyeshadows and with the Kyshadow palette having a few neutral colours in it, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to give it a go! Plus, I can count anything as a birthday present to myself if it’s in the same month, right?
So there are 9 colours in the palette (as you can see) and it’s a mix of neutrals, shimmers and a couple of bolder colours. I tend to lean towards matte shades pretty often in all categories but I can’t deny my love for the 2 shimmer shades in this palette. They’re not overly-bold colours so they’re perfect for finishing off a look and adding a little bit of sparkle.
Admittedly, when this actually arrived, I wasn’t hugely impressed because it was so much smaller than I expected it to be (I don’t think I’m alone on this either) so I didn’t rush home to try it out like I normally would do with any product. But when I sat down to get ready on Saturday morning I started messing around with it a little bit. I was instantly drawn to the shade Citrine, and I blended it with Tiger Eye & Topaz then used Jasper on my brow bone. Never in a million years did I think I’d be wearing orange eye shadow but I rocked it all day and let’s be honest, I slayed. Sunday was my birthday and I ended up creating 2 different looks, one with Hematite (probably my favourite shade), Topaz & Goldstone and then a night look with Topaz, Tiger Eye & Quartz!
I’ve 100% become obsessed with this palette, so much so that I have to resist the urge to use it when I get home from work – the last thing I want to do is waste it! The pigmentation, to me, is amazing. I was a little dubious when Kylie first released videos of the palette because it looked like she had to work pretty had to get a decent swatch, but I’m so impressed with it. I don’t actually get much fallout on my face either so I can apply the shadows after I’ve done a full face of makeup (am I the only one that prefers it that way around?).
Ever since I started using it I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know and finding any excuse to use it. Plus, in Ashley’s words: “I have a new look every day”. It’s so versatile and I kinda feel bad for my other palettes, because they’re going to be neglected for a good couple of months.
I’m seriously debating getting the Kyshadow Burgundy palette but I’m not sure, should I do it?
